The Beginning of our Summer: Uncle Kai's graduation

Near the end of April, we took a drive up to Utah to visit family and friends.  Russell was taking the NPTE (National Physical Therapy Exam) the next week which would determine whether or not he could legally practice his craft, so we let him study as much as possible while we were there.

We stayed with Karla and Dan Smith for a couple nights and apparently, their computer is super entertaining!  That is Lucy, Ty, Jenna, and Jason all crowded around one little educational game.  Ty had a fun time playing with them and we always have fun with the Smiths.
With my mom (and not Russell, who was dropped off at the library), we went to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point.  It ended up being a much warmer day than we had planned for, but the flowers were still pretty and it was fun to walk around.  Crowded, but fun.
 Perfect photo op!
...Except Ty was TOTALLY not into it.

 Cute Avery
Licorice to bribe Ty for a picture...didn't work.
My twinsies. :)  I took off Avery's headband because Lila's had fallen off earlier (sad) and I didn't want one to be mistaken for a boy or something!
Thanks for rescuing the girls from the impromptu dog pile, Mor-mor!
 Blue-eyed, fuzzy-headed Lolly.
We had some lunch at the little food truck cove that was set up and we had the LONGEST french fry ever!  Ty was impressed. What the heck--we all were!
Okay, so this is real reason we came up: to see my lil bruddah graduate.  He's down there somewhere.
And we got to meet Baby Brianna!  And see Matt and Ise, too.
Twas a bit of a long ceremony and our babies weren't lasting...
Avery was trying to entertain herself with the camera.
So, Avey is a little startle-able sometimes.  When we all yelled, "GO KAI!" when they called his name to walk on the stage and actually graduate, she got a little scared and screamed!  It was kinda funny...
Ty found a way to entertain himself--our phones, duh!
Ty-ty was so excited to meet Brianna and kept trying to make her laugh.  Sweet cousin!
Go Cougars!  And congrats, Uncle Kai!
At the after party, poor Lila couldn't stay awake.  Typical sleepyhead.
Avery could, though, and was happy to hang out with G-g'pa!
And, of course, there was a poker tournament going on.  Kai, with his fresh smart-ness, beat Uncle Vil, his old man, and Uncle Mike.  Better luck next game, guys.
We love reasons to go to Utah (or any place for that matter!) and see those we love.  We saw lots more people and spent more time with cousins, but I'm not always the best at taking out my camera.  I guess my hands are already a little full.  So, thanks to Mike, Shaina, and Blaze, Becky and crew, Grimmers, and everyone else we graced with our presence!  ;)
